A few weeks ago, I ran a workshop at University on critical thinking. As part of the workshop, me and my fellow trainer used an audience response system similar to those used on ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire?’. We gave each of the students in the session a remote and asked them a number of multiple choice questions. When they had all responded, we were able to view the results and then discuss the answers everyone had given. Below is one of the questions we asked. I still remember my old year head telling us how important it is to read the question CAREFULLY.
Quite right. If we don’t even know the question, how can we expect to get the answer correct.
