I have been watching old episodes of Trigger Happy TV recently. For those of you that have never seen it, it’s an often dark and poignant take on the hidden camera comedy genre. In line with its mood, the show eschews a laugh track, instead playing sombre music. ‘Speak To Me Someone’ by ‘Gene’ is one of the songs used.

A new and sociable theme
As I am sure you will have noticed if you have visited here recently, I have updated the theme of my blog. I really like the new look, I hope you do too. It is not just the appearances that has changed, I have added a few new social features. If you look at the top of the page, you should see two new exciting buttons. One is a link to my Facebook profile, the other is my RSS feed. Also, after each post, there is the option to share the content in question on Twitter, Facebook and WordPress.
I have not been posting on here very often recently. I am now less busy than I was however, so I hope to start posting more frequently from now on… perhaps around three times a week. A big thanks to everyone who has continued to read and comment on this blog throughout the drought.
Finally, I received a couple of interesting comments on my last post. Here is a little something for superjess:
London 2012 Olympic tickets
At midnight tonight, the window for applying for tickets to the 2012 Olympic Games closes. I have just finished my application. I applied for a range of events from athletics and cycling to judo and beach volleyball. Although I applied for fifteen events in total, I do not know how many I will eventually end up being successful in getting tickets for. The reason is that for events that are oversubscribed (most of the ones that I have applied for I imagine), a ballot will be held. Unfortunately, since money will be taken out of my account (in May) before I know which tickets I have been given (in June), I have to set aside the maximum possible amount. Oh well, I guess it makes the whole process a bit more exciting… Perhaps I can even try to work out which tickets I have been allocated from the amount of money that suddenly disappears from my account come May?
Yet another star performance
A few months ago, I featured in a music video. Last week I posted about a new tv series that I may (or may not) feature in. This week I learned that my acting career has hit new heights.
In a video introducing my university (watch it here), I play a starring role (for all of two and a half seconds (45 – 48 seconds)) by sitting at the front of a lecture theatre. This scene was filmed during the summer and I only found out about it after bumping into a friend on the day. Whilst it was not an actual lecture, thanks to my awesome acting skills it really looks like I am listening intently to what is being said.
update: It appears that I was underselling my performance somewhat. You can also see my right ear at 38 seconds. Hollywood, here I come.
Campus
It has been a while since I have posted on here. Now I am a bit less busy than I was so I think it is high time for a bit of blogging.
I may (or perhaps may not) have mentioned on this blog last summer that there was a film crew on my university campus, filming a new sitcom called… Campus. Anyway, after months of waiting, Campus has finally arrived on the small screen. You can see the first two episodes on 4oD here. Since I walked through a few scenes during filming, there is a chance that I may feature in an episode. Please let me know if you spot me!
Harry Potter TV show revealed
Today I came across the first official trailer for the new Harry Potter TV show due to air in July.
