That photo on the right, that’s me that is. I’m wearing my nice new jumper I got from BHS a few weeks ago. Anyway, I digress. So, back to me then, what can I say? Well firstly I’m a student, studying for a PhD in medical engineering at the University of Bath. I’m in my final (3rd) year now. Gosh scary thought that is. This theoretically means that I should be finishing quite soon…theoretically. Afterwards…well I’m not quite sure. Any suggestions are welcome.
Other things I do with my time include being a resident tutor. This means that I live in university accomodation looking after the saftey (close that fire door) and wellbeing (turn off that music, its 3am) of the students. I also volunteer for SORTED. This is an organisation at University that provides free training workshops to students.
I also enjoy many other activities photography, painting and learning Chinese to name a few. I will try to include a few examples of these on this blog in due course.
You can see my CV by clicking on the link below. If you really are an employer wanting to offer me an exciting job, please contact me by going to the ‘contact me’ page and filling out the form.
Update: I am now in the 4th year of my PhD. This really is my final year… promise. Indeed, I plan of submitting my thesis fairly soon. I still welcome any suggestions about what I should do next.
Hi Michael,
How are you doing? I like your blog. Just going on.
Good luck

I saw your comment on The Chronicles of a Rocket Surgeon, about the whole blog buddy thing. I think what you said about having a blog buddy be someone different is spot on. I think you’re doing great things on your blog. I enjoyed browsing through it
I’d just like to point out a subtle spelling error on your CV. Under your References section, available is spelled as availible. Not to be a nuisance, but some employers can be very picky about minute, almost-negligible things like that.
Thanks so much for letting me know about that. I have now updated it.
Good luck Michael – nothing wrong in having ambition in life, and you certainly show you have goals you are living up to.
Best Wishes
Thanks for your kind comment.
wonderful field you’re studying. no doubt you will be in great demand. have you thought about becoming a physician? also, you’re certainly youthful for a 4th year phd candidate. best of luck to you.
Michael – what happened to your blog? I hit the link on the email I received to make a comment, and got a message saying there was nothing there and that area could not be found??? It had your heading and the blog pages, but no home page.
That sounds weird. I have no idea what the problem could have been. Is it better now?
Yeah, it’s better now. Must have been an internet belch of some kind
Impressive CV. I feel lame.
